Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile, situated in the heart of Chicago’s upscale shopping and dining district, announces the completion of its multi-phase renovation project that transforms the hotel’s guestrooms, suites, expansive meeting space and restaurant & lounge. Operated by Davidson Hotels, the redesign captures the essence of Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood, blending bold artistry, warm minimalism, and a distinctly local spirit to deliver a refreshed experience for both leisure and business travelers.

The renovation, led by Anderson/Miller, Ltd. (AML) in collaboration with Hyatt Hotels and Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), reflects a modern yet inviting approach centered around creativity, comfort, and connection.

The newly reimagined guestrooms and suites reflect a balance of refined comfort and artistic expression. Each room features custom artwork, playful color palettes, and natural light that enhance a sense of discovery and rejuvenation. Design highlights include bold accents of teal, green, orange, pink, blue, and yellow, complemented by warm wood tones and subtle mid-century modern influences. Lighting was reimagined as a focal point, delivering layered illumination for both ambiance and function.

Local artistry plays a central role throughout the property. Chicago-based artist and designer Matthew Hoffman, founder of the You Are Beautiful project, contributes sculptural installations that encourage optimism and connection. Artist Ponnopozz created custom wallcovering murals for the suites, abstractly capturing the flora and fauna of the region through vivid color and playful form. Works by Nick Cave and Alexandria Eregbu add dimension to public spaces, while Steve Salgado’s Chicago street photography and a custom textile design by Joe Kraft round out the guestroom art collection.

Further enhancing guest connectivity and convenience, the property now features a new sky bridge that provides a direct connection to Northwestern Medicine’s Galter Pavilion. The bridge offers seamless indoor access between the hotel and the medical campus, improving ease of movement for patients, visitors, and hotel guests.

The property’s Grand Ballroom and meeting spaces were the first areas to undergo transformation, marking the initial phase of the renovation. The refreshed ballroom features a design theme inspired by “Where the City Meets the Lake,” incorporating organic blue and copper tones, walnut accents, and bronze details that evoke the fluid movement of water. The ceiling design features flowing sheets of colored metal mesh, creating a dynamic, wave-like effect, while upgraded audio technology enhances functionality for meetings, weddings, and events. With 20,000 square feet of flexible indoor event space, Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile provides a premier setting for meetings, weddings, and social gatherings in downtown Chicago.

Additionally, the renovation introduced a reimagined restaurant and lounge, The Bridge Kitchen + Cocktails, which celebrates Chicago’s bold culinary spirit and cultural diversity. The concept was designed as both a gathering place and a destination, serving locally influenced fare and craft cocktails that showcase familiar flavors with a modern twist. The refreshed space features a warm, contemporary design with wood finishes, curated art inspired by Chicago’s neighborhoods, and an open bar concept visually connected to the dining room. The Bridge offers approachable American shareable plates such as the signature Mozzarella Arancini, the Bridge Burger, and Mediterranean Sea Bass, alongside signature cocktails including the Chicago Honey Old Fashioned and Bridge & Tonic.

The renovation underscores the hotel’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Recent initiatives include refillable water stations on all guestroom and meeting room floors, reduction of single-use plastics, food composting, paperless filing, and the installation of energy-efficient LED lighting and low-flow water fixtures that significantly reduce consumption and waste.
