Sofidy acquires two Korner hotels in Paris from private investor

French real estate investment company Sofidy has acquired the three-star, 23-room Hôtel Korner Opéra and the three-star, 35-room Hôtel Korner Eiffel in Paris from a private investor through a sale-and-leaseback transaction, for an amount reported to be around €10 million (€172,400 per room). The Korner Opéra is situated in Paris’ 2nd district between the Louvre Museum and the Palais Garnier and was renovated in 2018. The Korner Eiffel is located in the 15th district about 1.5 kms south of the Eiffel Tower and was renovated in 2015. Both properties are leased back to French operator Korner Hotels on a 12-year term.

 Extendam acquires Le Châtelain Brussels Hotel in Belgium

French private equity firm Extendam has acquired the five-star, 107-room Le Châtelain Brussels Hotel in Belgium. The property is situated in the Châtelain district by the luxury shopping street Avenue Louise. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar and nine meeting rooms. Extendam plans to begin an extensive refurbishment of the hotel in summer 2026, modernising the bedrooms and renovating the public areas. The property will be rebranded under the Yalo brand and is scheduled to reopen in spring 2027.

 Maven Capital Partners sells Ibis Styles Glasgow Centre George Square

UK private equity firm Maven Capital Partners has announced the sale of its three-star, 101-room Ibis Styles Glasgow Centre George Square in Scotland to an undisclosed international hotel group for £7.5 million (£74,300 per room). The property is situated in central Glasgow between George Square and the central train station and includes a restaurant and bar. Maven clients developed the hotel and opened it in September 2015. The new owner will continue to operate the hotel under the franchise agreement with Accor.

 Somnoo acquires 123 IM’s shares in four French hotels

French owner-operator Somnoo has acquired the shares held by its partner-investor, French real estate management company 123 Investment Managers, in four hotels in France. The portfolio includes the four-star, 37-room Hotel de l’Univers Arras, the three-star, 80-room Ibis Styles Arles Palais des Congrès, the two-star, 64-room Ibis Budget Arles Palais des Congrès and the three-star, 56-room Kyriad Grenoble Centre. All hotels include a restaurant and have city centre locations. Somnoo had previously acquired 123 IM’s shares in six other French hotels in April 2025, as reported in this newsletter.

 New World Hospitality acquires Bloc Hotel Birmingham from Arora

UK owner-operator New World Hospitality has acquired the three-star, 105-room Bloc Hotel Birmingham, UK, from another UK owner-operator, Arora Group. The freehold hotel opened in 2011 and is situated in central Birmingham near the Jewellery Quarter. New World plans to strengthen the hotel’s position in the local market through further investment in the property. Arora acquired the property in July 2025 as part of its acquisition of Bloc Hotels.

Mont-Blanc Collection acquires Les Airelles hotel in Morzine, France

French owner-operator Mont-Blanc Collection has acquired the four-star, 55-room Les Airelles hotel in Morzine, France from the French Plagnat family. The property includes a restaurant and is situated in central Morzine in the French Alps, about an hour’s drive east of Geneva. Mont-Blanc plans to undertake an extensive 12-month renovation, increasing the property’s room count to 65 and introducing a restaurant, bar, and spa. The hotel is scheduled to reopen in December 2026.
