Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris is delighted to announce the appointment of Julien Bardet as General Manager.

A native of Cannes, Julien Bardet developed a passion for hospitality and the art of service at an early age. He holds a Master’s degree in Economic Sciences and Business Management from the University of Nice and began his career at Hôtel Martinez in Cannes, before joining Le Méridien Nice where he took on his first leadership roles in Sales and Marketing.

Eager to broaden his horizons internationally, he went on to build his career in some of the world’s most prestigious establishments. He moved to Asia as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Laguna, Luxury Collection, followed by The St. Regis Bali. In 2015, he joined The St. Regis New York as Hotel Manager, before continuing his journey at The St. Regis Bal Harbour in Miami. Three years later, he was appointed General Manager of The West Hollywood Edition.

In 2020, Julien Bardet returned to Paris as General Manager of Shangri-La Paris, at the height of the pandemic. With vision and leadership, he turned this time of uncertainty into an opportunity for strategic repositioning. Under his leadership, the property enhanced its reputation and earned prestigious international recognition.

As he assumes leadership of Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Julien Bardet arrives at a landmark moment: the hotel’s 115th anniversary, as the only Palace hotel on Paris’s Left Bank.

This December, the hotel will celebrate its anniversary, signalling the beginning of a new chapter in its storied history. The evening will honour the legendary spirit of Lutetia while embracing Mandarin Oriental’s craftsmanship and values of excellence, now guided by the leadership of Julien Bardet.

True to the spirit of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the hotel’s storied heritage, he is dedicated to elevating the Palace’s international standing by blending ultra-luxury with French excellence and a deep connection to its Left Bank setting.

Julien Bardet commented:
