Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, today announced the signing of a Ginger hotel in Shillong, marking the brand’s debut in Meghalaya. This is a greenfield project.

The 90-key Ginger Shillong will feature the brand’s signature all day dining restaurant Qmin, a stylish bar, a meeting room and a fitness centre, catering to both business and leisure travelers.

Known as the Scotland of the East, Shillong brings together colonial charm with the vibrant Khasi culture. Renowned for its rolling hills and temperate climate, the city is home to the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival and attractions such as Umiam Lake and Elephant Falls.

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 3 hotels in Meghalaya, including 1 under development.

About the Owning Company

Mr. Khongsngi is a real estate developer in Shillong. He serves as President of the Khasi Hills Archery Sports Institute (KHASI), a registered organization based in Meghalaya, India, dedicated to promoting the traditional sport of archery.
