The previous weeks we covered how to to create an Instagram account for your hotel and which types of posts to publish. On this platform, potential travelers will find out about your content. Either because they follow you or thanks to the hashtags used on your posts.

Today we will cover how to carefully select the hashtags to use, and how to effectively exploit them to reach out to your target market.

Table of Contents

How can hashtags increase my hotel visibility ?

Hashtags are the perfect mean to boost your visibility. As they can be seen by all Instagrammers, they allow your establishment to be more easily found.

Every day, traveler search images directly from their hashtags, and these searches are counted in millions. As a hotel owner, this is the perfect opportunity to promote your business. Beyond selecting the right image, choosing the appropriate term to follow the # symbol is a crucial step. Our recommendation is to use a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 per published content.

Which hashtags should i use for my hotel’s content?

First of all, make sure that you always indicate your location. Is your hotel based in Paris? Easy – your first hashtag must then be #paris. This should be followed by the name of your hotel e.g. #hoteletoile.

The following hashtags will obviously have to be selected according to the content of your post. In addition, you can add the traveler # listed at the end of this article.

Once again, simply using the correct hashtags will not suffice. It is important that you select an image that will spark your potential clients’ interest, and pair the image with your attentively-picked hashtags describing it. If you are lucky enough to be surrounded by beautiful sceneries, we truly recommend to posts as many pictures of landscapes as possible. This is particularly effective to make travellers dream about your location and lure them to stay with you in order to enjoy the view.

In the example above, we can see a limited but effective use of hashtags. The location is defined at the very beginning, the name of the hotel is mentioned, and the picture is clearly described by the hastags: #moutains #mountainsview.

The best “travel” hashtag for your posts:

#travelingram #travel #traveler #instatraveler #traveling #travelgram #travelling #travelphotography #traveltheworld #travelblog #vacation #vacations #vacationtime #instatravel #instatraveling #tourist #tourism #tourists #trip #phototravel #instatrip

A more general selection of effective hashtags

#view #sky #hotel #photooftheday #pictureoftheday #picoftheday #photo #photography #beautiful #enjoylife
