BARCELONA’S CASA LIT HOTEL SELLS: Real estate investment company Stoneweg and Bain Capital, through their hotel real estate joint venture, have sold the Casa Lit Barcelona hotel to Gargallo Hotel Group. Located around 400 meters from Las Ramblas in Barcelona, the luxury 89-key hotel was built in 2010 on the site of the former Colon theaters. Stoneweg took over management of the hotel in 2022 and has since renovated the property and introduced the Casa Lit brand. Formerly known as Acta Mimic Hotel, the property has been managed by the Ona hotels chain. CBRE served as the intermediary on the sale, with Cuatrecasas serving as legal advisor to Stoneweg Hospitality and Bain Capital. Deloitte advised Gargallo Hotel Group.
HAMPTON BY HILTON SIGNS IN LONDON HEATHROW: Hilton has signed Hampton by Hilton London Heathrow Bath Road, which marks the brand’s introduction at Europe’s busiest airport. The signing is part of a franchise agreement with Acre Hotels Ltd., which is part of the Westcombe Group. Located near the M4 motorway, the hotel will feature 157 rooms, onsite parking and Hampton by Hilton’s signature amenities, including communal spaces, hot breakfast and a retail market for on-the-go food, drink and essentials. Hilton already has hotels under other brands in the same area.
VALENCIA SECURES BIGGEST EQUITY RAISE: Valencia Hotel Group has completed its largest equity raise to date and acquired Cavalry Court and The George, two boutique hotels located in College Station, Texas. With these additions, Houston-based Valencia now holds majority interest in all hotels in its management portfolio. The purchase of the two Texas hotels were facilitated by the acquisition of the controlling interest from Harrison Street, which previously owned a substantial stake in the properties.
ASCENT ON MAIN REBRANDS: Hospitality management company Springboard Hospitality has rebranded its Ascent on Main boutique hotel as The Parker Hotel. The repositioning was led by owners Eagle Point Hotel Partners and hotel branding agency, Longitude. Located in Parker, Colo., the hotel has undergone enhancements, as part of the transition. The sports bar on the rooftop has been upgraded into a private event venue to accommodate events, weddings and group demand. The sports bar’s signature restaurant will operate as of now and will be renovated to reopen under a new concept this fall. The Parker also features a full-service, upscale jewelry store, a cigar shop and a restaurant.
