The Bramble is a cocktail invented in the 1980s in London that brings together gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, crème de mûre (blackberry liqueur), and crushed ice.

The Bramble, which takes its name from the bush on which blackberries grow, is evolving as it grows on U.S. menus into a variety of drinks that keep the core fruit flavor but take liberties with other components, including the gin.

But no matter the form, a Bramble is a refreshing spin on a simple cocktail that is seeing increased popularity with consumers. According to market research firm Datassential, the Bramble is found on 1.8% of U.S. menus, a 44% increase over the past four years. Awareness of the cocktail is highest among Gen Z and vegetarian and vegan consumers.

Click through the above gallery to learn more about this increasingly popular cocktail and to see how one restaurant is using it on the menu.
