Business travel is expected to grow significantly in 2025, with 40% of companies predicting an increase between June and July and 42% allocating more resources than in 2024.

The Global Business Travel Association report also found that 86% of buyers and suppliers performed at or above expectations in 2024, and 67% of professionals said they were optimistic about 20252.

In addition, 52% of buyers (44% in 2023) expect corporate travel budgets to increase.

BizAway, the Italian-based travel management scale-up with offices in Spain, Albania and Dubai too, operating worldwide, has confirmed the trend.

The company has indeed experienced a 47% increase in the number of stays booked and a 57% increase in total bookings on its platform compared to 2023.

The company is now also focusing on the United Kingdom, which is expected to drive the business travel sector by 2025.

In fact, it stands out for the highest rate of investments in business travel compared to other European countries and the United States in 2024 (31.3%): the country ranks 5th with projected spending of $51.5 billion3.

BizAway has revealed it’s seen some growth in certain services that make for interesting reading when it comes to predicting business travel trends in 2025.

Flexibility has become a key aspect, in an environment marked by strikes and unforeseen events, BizzyFlex, BizAway’s service that allows last-minute cancellations with refunds of up to 80%, has seen an increase in use of 152.81% compared to 2023.

In addition, flexibility is always more linked to operational efficiency through digital tools that help users optimize costs (BizAway has saved its clients an average of 15.5% on hotels compared to the market BAR) and achieve sustainability goals.

The scaleup also recorded particularly significant growth in the most sustainable segments, such as trains, with 63% compared to 2023. This trend reflects companies’ increasing focus on environmentally friendly transport options.

Technological innovation and sustainability will play a key role in 2025. 49% of industry professionals plan to increase their investment in technology (Global Business Travel Association report).

“We are experiencing a period of significant transformation in the business travel sector,” said Luca Carlucci, CEO of BizAway.

“In 2025, the industry will be shaped by three key drivers: technological innovation, sustainability, and flexibility.

“However, despite the rapid advancements in technology, the human element will continue to be essential: AI can optimize processes and costs, but it will never replace an expert’s ability to handle complex situations.

“At BizAway, our mission is to streamline this evolving landscape and tailor our solutions to meet the unique needs of numerous markets.”

He said: “We are committed to supporting UK businesses throughout this process of change and growth, with a particular focus on expanding our services in this country, a market of strategic importance to us.”
