The budget airline has revealed plans to turn city breaks into package holidays as it tries to get customers to book their whole trip through EasyJet

Jan 16, 2025

easyJet’s new CEO, Kenton Jarvis, is focused on maximizing the potential of its leisure division, already the group’s most profitable. The airline is also benefiting from a resurgence of interest in European city breaks, following a post-Covid shift in which Britons favored beach destinations.

Key takeaways

  • City breaks now account for 47% of easyJet’s demand, up from 42% when travel restrictions were lifted, but still below pre-Covid levels of over 50%;
  • Top city break destinations for 2025 include Amsterdam, Krakow and Paris, with early year visits proving particularly popular;
  • A recent report highlights the rise of the ‘small city seeker’, with travelers seeking quieter, more unique alternatives to major tourist hubs.
