Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the hospitality industry, with 73% of hoteliers expecting a significant or transformative impact

Jan 21, 2025

A recent study by Canary Technologies highlights the growing interest in AI among hoteliers, with 61% believing that AI is already impacting the industry or will do so within a year, while 40% anticipate a longer timeline.”The AI revolution in hospitality is here,” said SJ Sawhney, president and co-founder of Canary Technologies. “Our goal is to provide hoteliers with actionable insights to adopt AI tools that drive growth and efficiency.”

Key takeaways

  • Budget allocation increases with scale: Larger properties are leading AI investments, with two-thirds of hotels with 150+ rooms allocating at least 10% of their budget to AI. Among properties with 500+ rooms, 26% allocate more than half of their IT budget to AI solutions;
  • Optimism Across Roles: From human resources to general managers to IT professionals, over 94% of respondents are optimistic about AI’s transformative or significant impact on hospitality;
  • Redefining Key Areas: AI will transform guest engagement, with over 80% of respondents expecting it to reshape pre-booking interactions and guest communications;
  • AI offers direct benefits such as reputation management and loyalty programs, as well as indirect benefits through price optimization, direct bookings, and automated offers.
