Bob W, the tech-powered hospitality operator, has signed a long-term lease for a 7,500 sq m former police station in Copenhagen’s iconic Meatpacking District, in partnership with Nordic real estate investor Slättö.
The heritage building, located in the culinary hotspot of Kødbyen, will be converted into a 169-unit flagship Bob W property, set to open in October 2027.
The agreement marks one of the operator’s largest deals to date and represents a significant investment in Denmark, further strengthening Bob W’s presence in the Nordics.
Bob W Copenhagen Vesterbro is set to become a cornerstone of the company’s northern Europe growth strategy and one of the most substantial single-site aparthotel developments in the region.
Slättö and Bob W have previously collaborated on several projects, including the award-winning Bob W Helsinki Kaarti, recognised for its excellence in design and sustainability. The latest partnership reflects the two firms’ shared commitment to revitalise underused buildings with sustainable, design-centric hospitality concepts.
The centrally located former police station will be transformed into a mix of a restaurant, social and co-working lounges, furnished studios and one-bedroom serviced apartments, offering full kitchens, smart room controls and Bob W’s seamless digital guest journey.
The Copenhagen Vesterbro property adds to Bob W’s growing presence in the city, where 165 units are already operating. With this latest signing, the company’s pan-European portfolio now exceeds 5,000 units.
Originally built as a police headquarters, the building’s industrial façade and structural character will be preserved and thoughtfully reimagined. The interiors will feature locally sourced artwork, furnishings, and collaborations with artisans in the area, highlighting Bob W’s commitment to authentic design rooted in the surrounding neighbourhood.
Once complete, Bob W Vesterbro will offer both short and extended stays for leisure and business travellers in one of Europe’s most dynamic creative districts.
Bob W continues to seek additional Nordic opportunities and is actively engaging with asset owners, developers, and municipal stakeholders across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and more widely across Europe to source long-term lease or acquisition projects.
