Dean Group emerges as new force in lifestyle hospitality with character-rich global portfolio

Today marks the debut of Dean Group, an independent and character-driven hospitality group that celebrates the essence of place. The announcement of Dean Group marks the exciting new formation of a distinctive portfolio where local stories meet global ambition.

Born from a collection of Ireland’s most beloved independent hotels – including The Dean Dublin, Cork, and Galway, alongside The Leinster, The Mayson, The Devlin, and Glasson Lakehouse – Dean Group represents a hospitality collective that’s greater than the sum of its parts, where each property pulses with the authentic rhythm of its neighbourhood. The creation of the group marks not only the consolidation of a celebrated Irish portfolio but also the announcement of bold international expansion plans: The Dean Munich and The Dean Berlin, will both open in early 2026, followed by The Dean Miami in late 2026.

Alongside this transatlantic growth, Dean Group is reimagining its Dublin roots. Mid-2026 will see the relaunch and expansion of The Dean Dublin with enlarged premises and refreshed interiors. Having welcomed its first guests in 2014, The Dean Dublin was the original lifestyle hotel in Dublin: offering a forward-thinking, design-led and art-centric hospitality brand in the city for the first time. The hotel is also the original home to other Dean Group brands now present across the wider portfolio, including Sophie’s Rooftop and POWER Gym. Late 2027 will see the full-scale revival of The Clarence, one of the group’s signature luxury properties, in the heart of Dublin’s famed Temple Bar. A prominent building on the banks of the River Liffey, The Clarence has been in use as a hotel since the mid-nineteenth century, fully establishing itself as a Dublin hotspot when it was bought and renovated by rock band U2 in 1997. Thirty years later, the hotel is primed to re-emerge, refreshed for a new era.
