According to our annual Travel Predictions research, 57%* of travelers have said that they’d vacation in a holiday home property so they can experience living in a destination before potentially moving there. Staying in a home property offers those comforts of space and quiet time, and allows travelers to experience a destination like a local, getting to know the transport links and local amenities. With that, we have delved into the most liveable destinations outlined by the Global Liveable Index, spotlighting the places that might be worth the move.
Calgary, Canada
Located in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, Calgary is home to over 240 different backgrounds and more than 165 spoken languages. As well as enjoying a strong welcoming culture, the city is also rated the cleanest in the world, ranking 5th on the Global Liveability Index. Well-known as ‘Cowtown’ due to its long history as the center of a cattle-rearing region, the city stays true to its western roots by hosting the Calgary Stampede every July, a 10-day festival complete with rodeos. Get to know the sights and attractions by visiting the 190.8-metre observation Calgary Tower and learn more by strolling round one of the many museums and art galleries, and soaking in the culinary delights such as ‘ginger beef’, a Calgary delicacy made from beef and ginger with a distinctive sweet sauce.
