Alina collection scoops Tableware Awards prize

Steelite International’s Alina collection has won the Fine Dinnerware category in the Tableware Awards 2025, which have just been announced at Ambiente.

The awards celebrate excellence and innovation in tableware and are judged by some of the industry’s leading lights.

The Fine Dinnerware category shines a spotlight on the premium sector, with designs that communicate luxury and enhanced formality.

Alina combines two strong and complementary aesthetics.  The simplicity and restraint of the design reflect its Japanese influences, while the easy going, approachable and casual style are very much Scandi-inspired.  Embossed lines draw the eye to the centre of the plate, and these, combined with the pure white colour, make the food the focus of the presentation.

Alina delivers an interplay of light and line that creates a very contemporary style that’s both subtle and striking.

The awards’ judging panel described Alina as ‘well executed’ and ‘a chef’s dream’, adding that the pieces lend themselves to an upscale dining experience.

“Alina is a design that we are very proud of,” says Andrew Klimecki, Vice President of Design at Steelite International.  “It’s a trendsetter – it embodies the Japandi ethos, bringing together two traditions that focus on the balance between simplicity and natural elements. The beautiful part is that the embossment draws the eye towards the centre of the piece, giving gravitas and focus to chef’s creativity. We are absolutely delighted that it’s won this prestigious award!”

Alina is a comprehensive collection, with 36 different pieces, including 15 plates and 11 bowls.  It’s part of the Steelite Distinction range, which ensures elegance and style as well as strength and durability.

The judges for the 2025 Tableware Awards were Wiebke Lehmann, Martyn Lewis, Nick Holland, Robin Levien, Valda Goodfellow, John O’Byrne, Jorge Pérez, Laurie Burns, Michele Trzuskowski, Jesper Efferbach, Dominique Tage, and Amos van Praagh.  Ambiente is one of the sponsors and the awards are organised by Tableware International.
