Ruby Hotels debuts in Denmark with new Copenhagen project

Ruby Hotels is set to make its debut in Denmark with a 219-room hotel in Copenhagen, developed in partnership with ECE. Located in the Frederiksberg district, the hotel will combine modern design and historical architecture, reinforcing Ruby’s Lean Luxury concept. The property is scheduled to open in Q1 2027.

A prime location in Frederiksberg

Situated in one of Copenhagen’s most sought-after neighborhoods, the new Ruby Hotel will offer guests a stylish and comfortable stay with excellent connectivity.

The hotel will be within walking distance of Copenhagen Central Station, the Meatpacking District, and Tivoli Gardens, while Copenhagen Airport (CPH) is just 25 minutes away via direct transport links.

Frederiksberg is known for its upscale restaurants, cultural attractions, and boutique shopping, making it an ideal destination for both business and leisure travelers.

Innovative design in a historic setting

Ruby Hotels will transform an existing office building on Gammel Kongevej 74A into a six-story hotel that blends contemporary elegance with heritage architecture. The property will feature vibrant public spaces, a winter garden on the ground floor, and a rooftop terrace with panoramic city views.

Ruby’s in-house design team, led by Matthew Balon, will oversee the interior concept, ensuring a seamless fusion of style, functionality, and comfort that aligns with the brand’s Lean Luxury philosophy.

Strategic partnership and sustainable growth

This Copenhagen project marks another milestone in Ruby Hotels’ expansion in Northern Europe. Partnering with ECE, a long-term development collaborator, Ruby continues its strategy of revitalizing underutilized spaces into vibrant hospitality destinations.

Ruby Hotels’ growing European presence

With this latest addition,  set to open in early 2027, Ruby Hotels strengthens its position in Europe’s dynamic hospitality market. In the meantime, Ruby Hotels continues its expansion across Europe with the opening of its first hotel in Budapest in 2026 and its first property in France which will take place in Marseille. 

If you missed the information, Ruby Hotels was acquired by IHG Hotels & Resorts last month. And the Group’s stated objective is to grow the Ruby Hotels brand to over 120 properties within the next 10 years and accelerate expansion beyond 250 hotels within 20 years in partnership with owners worldwide.
