There is a new on-trend destination for urban explorers, for business nomads and for all those seeking something out of the ordinary. The NYX Hotel Berlin Köpenick by Leonardo Hotels, which enjoys a waterfront location at the heart of Berlin’s fashionable Köpenick district directly opposite Köpenick Palace, is scheduled to open in May 2025. It will combine comfort and creative energy with a relaxed lifestyle.
Although the NYX Hotel Berlin Köpenick brings the presence of Leonardo Hotels in the German capital to seven, it will be the first in the city to operate under the lifestyle brand NYX Hotels. The new addition means that the Leonardo Group now boasts 17 NYX Hotels across Europe. This figure includes four hotels in Germany and others in Poland, Greece, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, the UK, Ireland and Czechia. A further brand highlight is set to follow in the summer in the shape of the NYX Hotel Rome, which will be housed in a building of outstanding architectural and conceptual design in the very centre of the Italian capital.
NYX Hotels by Leonardo Hotels stand for individuality, creativity and metropolitan joie de vivre. They represent the lifestyle brand of Leonardo Hotels and blend art, culture and night life to produce a truly unique experience. Local creative talents turn each hotel into a complete work of art by contributing individual pieces. The hotels become pulsating gathering points for revellers and free spirits thanks to innovative concepts and events staged under the motto of “We own the night”. At the same time, their modern, lively and high-energy vibe provides the perfect stage for business and meetings.
Jan Heringa, Vice President Development Leonardo Hotels Central Europe, added: “The NYX Hotel Berlin Köpenick constitutes a robust continuation of our lifestyle concept. Design, art and attitude meld into a hotel experience which extends far beyond the accepted norm. NYX Hotels embody a new generation of lifestyle hotels. They are individual and expressive and have deep roots in local culture. Each hotel is a one-off with its own impressive design, art and creative energy. This firm differentiation generates emotional loyalty to the brand and also opens up an extraordinary degree of potential in selected city locations all over the world.”
Stylish design and smart furnishings and fittings
The NXY Hotel Berlin Köpenick offers a total of 190 rooms, one of which is fully disabled-accessible. The rooms reflect the creative spirit of the NYX brand. Their design draws its inspiration from street art, music, fashion and the local scene. Internal fixtures and fittings are by the interior designer Andreas Neudahm, who has already appended his innovative signature to many Leonardo Hotels. High-end materials, harmonious colour schemes and customised furniture also give rise to an environment which is appealing both functionally and emotionally.
The interplay between design and art was a core element of the design concept from the outset. Andreas Neudahm joined forces with the curator and artist Mirko Reisser, also known as DAIM, to generate an overall visual experience which unifies design and artistic style in a harmonious manner. The artists involved include Plusminus3, Stohead, Julia Benz, Kera and BASE23. The works they have produced include large-format murals, typographical façade design and even sculptural elements. These serve to mould the optical appearance of the inside and outside of the hotel and establish a powerful connection between street art ideas and architecture.
The link with the city is a particular focus. The aim is for guests to feel at home whilst still being able to immerse themselves in the local culture. Digital City Guides also help in this regard by providing curated insider tips which make it even easier to explore Berlin.
Open lobby, bar and restaurant – with views of the water
The spacious open lobby, which features a bar, a chill-out area and a restaurant, is a core element of the hotel. The atmosphere is free, inviting and stylish with direct panoramas of the River Dahme and the Baroque-style Köpenick Palace. One highlight of the hotel is a large outdoor terrace right at the water’s edge, which also provides an ideal venue for barbecues, summer parties, receptions or yoga sessions with a view.
The culinary offerings in the Clash Restaurant follow a creative and international approach. This is casual dining with a Berlin twist, realised by a young and ambitious team of chefs. The menu is inspired by street food and by a sense of international flair. Ingredients of the very highest quality and intensive taste sensations play the major role. One unique feature of the Clash Köpenick is the restaurant’s plan to cooperate with a series of creative visiting chefs. The first guest will be Graciela Cucchiara, a restaurateur, special events chef and influencer who is well known for her appearances on the cookery show “Kitchen Impossible”.
Visionary meetings & events
The NYX Hotel Berlin Köpenick offers 14 flexible events room extending over a total area of 912 square metres. These provide optimum conditions for conferences, seminars or private celebrations. All rooms have natural daylight and modern conference technology equipment, and some open directly onto the outdoor terrace. The largest room is able to accommodate up to 300 persons. An experienced events team is on hand to support the planning and implementation of everything from business meetings to summer barbecue receptions.

These include stand-up paddling on the Dahme, cycling tours and excursions to the nearby Lake Müggelsee or Müggelberge Hills. Bicycles and kayaks can be rented from the hotel directly.

Specially designed furniture and decorative elements create an individual atmosphere. Events such as DJ nights, pop-up culture formats and local art installations ensure that the hotel pulsates with life. A “City Lovers” team is available to ensure that guests are provided with true Berlin insider tips which are personal, local and always up to date.
