The Red Sea EDITION has officially opened in Saudi Arabia.

The luxury property is the first hotel to open on Shura Island, a pristine destination on the country’s western coastline, and EDITION’s second location in Saudi Arabia (following its debut in Jeddah last year).

The 240-key Red Sea EDITION includes 53 one- and two-bedroom suites, multiple pools, a spa and gym, lounges, and an array of restaurants and sea-facing dining experiences.

Guests arrive via a desert drive and traverse Saudi Arabia’s longest internal bridge before reaching the resort, which unfolds as a series of low-lying stone and timber pavilions that open onto white sand beaches.

A rooted design by Rockwell Group

Designed by Rockwell Group, the Red Sea EDITION embodies the brand’s signature blend of sophistication and energy through a palette rooted in the landscape.

Earth walls, coral stone floors, natural oak, and soft textiles draw inspiration from canyons, coral reefs, and wind-sculpted dunes. Custom rooftops mimic coral formations, while indoor-outdoor transitions frame uninterrupted views of the Red Sea and the island’s lush golf course.

The Red Sea EDITION experience

The arrival pavilion, crafted from rammed earth and oak, evokes the grandeur of canyon walls, softened by woven textiles, greenery, and a suspended ceramic chandelier.

In the guestrooms, coral stone and oak detailing pair with neutral tones and residential-style furnishings to create calming sanctuaries. Select accommodations feature terraces with private plunge pools and direct beach access as well.

Anchoring the social experience, the lobby serves as an all-day gathering place that transitions from morning coffee to tea-based cocktails in the evening.

Meanwhile, JIWA Beach Club brings a Balinese spirit to Saudi’s shores, complemented by JIWA Terrace, a tranquil, wellness-oriented poolside retreat. Both venues echo coastal living with terracotta tones, sun-washed teak, and greenery.

Slated to open in December, ANASA, led by Saudi chef Basma Elkhereiji, will offer a vibrant dining destination defined by a glazed bar and tactile terrazzo flooring.

Wellness and amenities

In the wellness area—which includes a spa and gym—natural light becomes a design element, filtered through timber screens and coral stone to foster serenity. A dedicated Recovery Dome offers hydrothermal experiences, too.

More than 10,760 square feet of event space, including a grand ballroom for up to 500 guests, expands the resort’s offerings for gatherings large and small.
