Motek, a Miami-born Mediterranean restaurant founded by Charlie and Tessa Levy, has opened its first New York outpost in the Flatiron District.

Since launching in 2020, Motek has cultivated a following across South Florida, thanks to its vibrant spaces—defined by sunlit palettes of white and yellow, accented by a central tree with growing branches—and its bright, kosher-style menu.

Envisioning Motek New York

For the New York location, Motek partnered with SZPROJECTS founder Silvia Zofio, who envisioned a space that blends the warmth of the Mediterranean with the sophistication of the city. A vintage-inspired frontage, natural materials, layered textures, and soft lighting create an environment designed for gathering and sharing.

“Designing Motek’s New York flagship was about celebrating culture and connection through space,” says Zofio. “We wanted every guest to feel embraced by Mediterranean warmth while also experiencing the elegance and vibrancy of New York. Every material, every light, every detail was chosen to tell that story.”

For founder Charlie Levy, the flagship is as much about storytelling as it is about design. “Motek has always been about recreating the flavors, warmth, and hospitality I grew up with, and sharing them with the world,” he says. “In New York, I wanted the design to echo the feeling of sitting around a family table, while also reflecting the energy and elegance of the city. This flagship is not just a restaurant—it’s our story translated into a space where everyone can feel at home.”
