PPHE to sell NYC site as it shelves plans for development

🏠 PPHE Hotel Group plans to sell its New York site for $33.5M (£24.7M) to a US developer. The Manhattan property, bought in 2019, was intended for hotel development, but regulatory changes halted plans. Demolition and air rights acquisitions maximized exit value. IHG and Fairview Hotels to open four new UK properties

🛢 IHG Hotels and Resorts, in partnership with Fairview Hotels, is expanding in the UK with four new properties, totaling 383 rooms. The Voco London – Bloomsbury, located on Southampton Row, will open mid-2026 after rebranding. Garner Hotel Rotherham East opened in January 2025, while the Lincoln and Chesterfield North hotels will open in February 2026. This brings the IHG-Fairview partnership to six hotels. The expansion aims for quicker market entry and better returns.
