Ennismore has signed The Hoxton, Madrid, which is scheduled to open in 2026. The hotel will be located on Plaza de Santa Ana in Madrid’s historic centre. It will be the brand’s second destination in Spain following The Hoxton, Poblenou in Barcelona which opened in 2022. The Hoxton, Madrid will mark Ennismore’s first property in the Spanish capital.
The hotel will occupy a building by Jesús Carrasco-Muñoz y Encina. The open-plan lobby will include an all-day coffee bar and lounge space. Ennismore’s F&B Platform will oversee the hotel’s restaurant and bars. Il Bambini Club will feature a trattoria with a bar and an open kitchen. On the rooftop, Cayo Coco will serve tropical cocktails, wine and beers.
The property will offer 192 guestrooms and suites in five Hox categories. Rooms will feature simple colour palettes, plush fabrics, statement rugs and retro-chic furniture inspired by the local neighbourhood. Guests will also find The Hoxton Survival Guide, Roberts Radio and Blank toiletries. The Apartment, the hotel’s signature meeting and event space, will accommodate gatherings of various sizes. Refurbishment work will be led by Petra AM with support from Urban Input Group.
The hotel’s location provides proximity to museums including the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen-Bornemisza. Guests will also have easy access to tapas bars, cafes, markets, theaters, galleries and music venues. Local festivals such as San Isidro and Madrid Pride offer cultural experiences throughout the year.
“We’re delighted to be growing The Hoxton’s portfolio with another exciting property in Spain. Madrid has long been on our radar, and this modernist gem of a building is going to be the perfect home for The Hoxton brand in a neighbourhood teeming with incredible culture, food and history. The Hoxton’s pipeline for the coming years is strong, with Madrid one of several openings we have lined up in Europe alongside Oslo, Kraków and Hamburg, as well as Melbourne in Australia and Nashville in the US. Our bar concept, Cayo Coco, has been a standout success in Vienna, so we’re particularly excited to introduce it to Madrid,” said Sharan Pasricha, founder and co-CEO of Ennismore.
Ennismore has continued its expansion in Spain with openings including SLS Barcelona in early 2025, and in 2024, Mondrian and Hyde in Ibiza. The group also introduced SO/ Sotogrande, its first fashion-inspired all-inclusive resort in Andalusia.
The Hoxton, Madrid will combine local design influences, hospitality spaces and lifestyle offerings as part of Ennismore’s growing European portfolio, positioning the property within the city’s cultural and culinary core.
