Warren Norman Companies, in partnership with Belmont Land and Belmont Abbey, has officially broken ground on the new Residence Inn Belmont, a four-story, 107-room extended-stay hotel slated to open in Spring 2027. The project marks a significant milestone for the Belmont community, bringing new lodging options, economic development, and continued investment to the CaroMont Health corridor.
Strand Hospitality Services, headquartered in Myrtle Beach, SC, has been selected as the hotel’s management company. Known for its strong operational performance and portfolio of top-ranked properties across the Southeast, Strand will oversee all pre-opening planning and long-term hotel operations.
Construction of the Residence Inn Belmont will be led by Myers & Chapman, a trusted general contractor with a long history of commercial development excellence. Architectural design is being provided by RAD Architecture & Design, whose approach blends modern extended-stay comfort with design elements that reflect the character of Belmont and the surrounding region.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together key partners and community leaders, including Lane Norman of Warren Norman Companies; John Pharr of Strand Hospitality Services; Mayor Pro Tem Jim Hefferan, City Manager Miles Braswell, and Councilman Jason Rumfelt from the City of Belmont; Bill Monroe of Belmont Abbey; Luke Nelson of Myers & Chapman; Bill Carstaphan of Belmont Land; and Doug Ehmann. The City of Mount Holly was also represented by City Manager Jonathan Blanton, who was in attendance but not pictured.
The Residence Inn Belmont will be located along the CaroMont Parkway corridor, directly across from CaroMont Regional Medical Center. The hotel will feature spacious suites, fully equipped kitchens, flexible workspaces, a fitness center, outdoor amenities, and meeting space designed to serve both short- and long-term guests.
