Tribe London Canary Wharf has announced that it has been awarded Green Key status, an international eco-label for tourism facilities.

The hotel stated that this certification highlights its commitment to high environmental standards through rigorous documentation and frequent audits.

In addition to this achievement, the hotel has partnered with the Made Blue Foundation, an entrepreneurial charity providing clean drinking water.

By partnering with Made Blue, Tribe is encouraging guests to shorten their showers by 15 seconds, saving about 100 litres of water per night, per room.

As a result, the hotel will donate 5 pence per room cost per night towards the Made Blue water project.

To further support this initiative, the hotel has replaced water cartons in rooms with specially designed reusable glass bottles and installed water filtration systems that cater to all in-house guests.

Eva Senhub, environmental manager, said: “We are the first Tribe to achieve Green Key certification, which was challenging, exciting, and rewarding. Sustainability is core to Tribe and Accor, and this was a natural next step. With increasing demand for conscious tourism, Green Key certifies options that align with modern traveller’s values.”

Neha Sheoran, project manager, added: “Partnering with Made Blue is the cherry on top of our Green Key certification achievement. Leading this project helped me gain a better understanding of the impact these small changes can make in people’ s lives.”
