Opening this September within the West London district’s Filmworks development, the 1,450 sq ft restaurant will have a total of 50 covers with an open-plan dining room that seats 30 and a further 20 covers on an outdoor terrace.
Ealing will see the launch of the soon to be five strong group’s 18-Districts concept, a rotating menu that introduces Hong Kong’s favourite dishes as specials in addition to the house-roasted and chopped-to-order Cantonese meats (siu mei) the group is is known for.
The inaugural 18-Districts menu will include chee cheong fun served with sesame sauce, sweet soy and chilli; Three Uncles prawn toast; curry beef brisket on rice; oven-baked pork chop on rice; salted duck eggs; mango pudding; and deep-fried custard buns.
“We plan to grow slowly and carefully while maintaining quality with the aim of opening two to three shops annually with an ultimate goal of ten sites”, says co-founder Chong Yew. “Ee also hope to beat our record week of 1,100 ducks sold in one week across all sites!”
Three Uncles was launched as a small takeaway kiosk in Liverpool Street in 2019 by childhood friends and chefs Chong Yew (Uncle Lim), Pui Sing Tsang (Uncle Sidney), and Mo Kwok (Uncle Mo).
Further Three Uncles sites have followed in Brixton, Camden and St Paul’s.
