Set to launch next week (17 July), the pub will occupy the former police station that was most recently home to The Crown (which was part of the now defunct Harcourt Inns pub group).

It will be JKS Restaurants and Jacob’s third London pub joining The George in Fitzrovia and The Cadogan Arms in Chelsea.

The site will comprise a ‘bustling’ pub floor, reception room, two private dining rooms, a covered outdoor courtyard and a south-facing front terrace, and will be open for lunch, dinner and bar snacks seven days a week.

The main private dining room seats up to 18 guests and features an exposed brick ceiling from three combined former prison cells, paying homage to the building’s storied past.

Two wine cellars also housed in former cells sit alongside the room, with original jail bars and prison doors kept in place.

In August, The Hound will open four boutique guest rooms situated above the pub, marking JKS Restaurant’s first foray into accommodation.

Executive chef John Sparks will work alongside culinary director James Knappett of two Michelin-star Kitchen Table in Fitzrovia, serving a diverse menu inspired by British pub classics.

Drawing on favourites at The Cadogan Arms and The George, The Hound menu features black pudding scotch egg with Oxford sauce; buttermilk fried chicken with blue cheese sauce and Bubbledogs hot sauce; and ham, egg and chips with spiced pineapple ketchup.

Signature dishes sit alongside new menu items exclusive to The Hound, including grilled red prawns with chilli and garlic gremolata and focaccia; and salt cod croquettes with lemon aioli and coriander.

Exclusive hero main dishes will include the Highland Wagyu hound dog with Ogleshield cheese, sauerkraut, and charcuterie sauce, chicken and leek pie with mashed potatoes and buttered greens.

“We are excited to be taking over this historic site in Chiswick, it has long been a cornerstone of the local community and we hope that it will continue to be one, offering a welcoming space for socialising whether for a drink, meal, special occasion or overnight stay,” says Jacobs, who leads JKS Restaurant’s pub arm as managing director.

Both The Cadogan Arms and The George have embedded themselves in their respective local communities over the past three years and are thriving as a result. It is with the same ambition we hope to launch The Hound.”
