Leading airline software provider Accelya has named three new significant additions to its leadership team to strengthen its position.

Gianni Cataldo has been appointed chief product officer,  while Tye Radcliffe has been made chief customer success officer, alongside Alastair Pooley as chief information officer (CIO).

The new leadership changes are part of Accelya’s strategic focus on scaling its operations and “driving digital transformation” for its airline partners.

Gianni Cataldo brings over 25 years of experience leading product innovation in the airline technology space.

He has been recognised as a visionary leader in disruptive technologies and digital retailing platforms.

His expertise in product portfolio development and eCommerce has been instrumental in transforming business models and driving new revenue streams for airlines.

He is known for his leadership in API-based software development and his track record in building cloud-native products.

Radcliffe has been with Accelya since 2021 and has an extensive background in the airline and travel technology sectors.

Before joining Accelya, Radcliffe served as director of distribution at United Airlines, where he played a key role in shaping the carrier’s commercial and technical strategies for external distribution.

He has previously chaired IATA’s Passenger Standards Conference, and served on key IATA working groups, such as the Distribution Advisory Council, Shop Order Payment Standards Board and various groups looking after the New Distribution Capability (NDC) and ONE Order initiatives.

In his new role, Radcliffe will focus on expanding service adoption and supporting airlines in achieving their strategic goals.

Pooley joins over 20 years of IT and cybersecurity expertise. Before joining Accelya, Pooley served as CIO at Snow Software, where he played a pivotal role in scaling the business globally.

He has also held senior roles at Sophos, where he spearheaded the launch of Sophos Cloud, delivering services to 3,000 employees and over 100 million endpoint users.

With a wealth of experience in cloud infrastructure and IT strategy, Pooley will further strengthen Accelya’s technology and security capabilities.

Sam Gilliland, CEO of Accelya, said: “These are exciting times for both Accelya and the broader airline industry.

“As we work with our airline partners to deliver a new era in airline retailing, these appointments reflect the depth of technology and customer expertise we have to support the industry on its modernisation journey.

“We are thrilled to welcome Alastair and to elevate Tye and Gianni into their new roles as we continue to drive innovation and growth across our end-to-end software platform.”
