Collaboration will see roll out of a one-order purchase platform

IBM Consulting and FLYR are combining IBM’s transition and systems integration and FLYR’s foundational airline retailing technologies to provide customers a one-order booking system.

With the airline industry shifting toward a retail-oriented model, using an order-based platform that mirrors the flexibility of top e-commerce companies, together IBM and FLYR plan to create a pathway for airline clients from legacy systems to the modern, interconnected and dynamic experiences that customers now demand.

“FLYR’s innovative platform, paired with IBM Consulting’s expertise, enables a seamless retail experience for travellers, modernizing airline infrastructure, improving efficiency, and unlocking new revenue opportunities,” said Dee Waddell, Global Industry Leader, Consumer, Travel & Transportation Industries, IBM Consulting.

FLYR CEO Alex Mans said: “Combining IBM Consulting’s proven and deep expertise in helping airlines evolve with FLYR’s open and modular technology foundation for airline retailing, we unlock fast-paced innovation for our airline customers.

“As we continue to help airlines adopt modern digital retailing solutions, it is important that we integrate fully with the vast technology ecosystem that supports an airline.”

For airlines that elect to work with both FLYR and IBM Consulting, this collaboration can bring key benefits, including:

  • Transition Management Expertise
  • Flexible and Scalable Solutions
  • Comprehensive System Integration

By bridging legacy systems with modern solutions through FLYR’s retailing technology and IBM’s expertise in systems integration, airline clients can more smoothly transition to a future where customer expectations are finally exceeded.
