Uber for Business, Uber’s corporate travel management platform, has launched Delegate Booking in the UK.

This new tool will allow executive assistants to take control of transport arrangements on behalf of executives, who are then freed up to focus on other responsibilities.

It enables assistants to request rides, order premium vehicles (Uber Business Comfort, Uber Business Exec and Lux) and reserve trips in advance, on behalf of anyone who grants them permission to book rides using their business profile.

Delegate Booking also gives assistants the ability to monitor rides, edit destinations and add stops during the trip.

In addition to having the ability to arrange transport for multiple business executives, assistants can use Delegate Booking to manage post-trip support with Uber for Business, such as locating lost property.

They can also see costs upfront and automate billing by integrating their expensing platforms.

Jenna Brown, director of Uber for Business UK, said: “Managing ground transport can be extremely challenging, even for the most capable of executive assistants. It can be difficult to stay in control if there are last-minute changes of plan, specific requests are made or things, such as the receipt, go missing. Delegate Booking has been designed to give assistants the help they need in these situations. It is enabling them to handle travel arrangements before, during and after the trip – so they can manage any unforeseen circumstances should they ever need to.”

Catherine Boccellari, executive assistant at Uber, said: “Delegate Booking has made a huge difference in my day-to-day workflow.

“I can now arrange my executives’ rides in a matter of seconds and know that it’s taken care of, freeing me to take on the rest of my day.”

To use the Delegate Booking tool, executives simply need to add their assistant as a delegate within their Uber business profile.

Alternatively, assistants can initiate this by requesting to be added as a delegate.
