GENERATOR has joined forces with Wonderfruit festival in Thailand to take over its Boutique Camping village for the December event, bringing Generator’s socially-powered hospitality experience to Asia for the first time.
The award-winning global hospitality brand will be creating cosy camping accommodation for festival-goers, known as ‘Wonderers’, inspired by its design-led properties across the world. Guests will be able to book not only private, air-conditioned bell tents and RVs, but the industry’s first dorm-style booking option, where guests can share a three-bed tent with other solo travellers.
The shared offering provides guests with a more affordable way to enjoy Wonderfruit’s luxury onsite accommodations as well as the chance to build new connections during their stay. The experience will be enhanced by Generator’s bespoke gamification and unique programming in the Boutique Camping village, curated to encourage social interactions and create more memorable experiences.
Boutique Campers will be able to take part in activities such as community curated art installations and drop into music sessions throughout their stay, or simply get involved in one of the many social games inspired from all corners of the globe and designed to inspire conversation. From world-famous activities like beer pong and giant Jenga to games like Mölkky—a Finnish throwing game similar to bowling—the village will transform the Boutique Camping experience into a social hub complete with a dedicated restaurant and bar.
Alastair Thomann, CEO of Generator, said: “We’re constantly redefining what travel accommodation should look and feel like for our community, to create unique experiences and spaces for our guests to meet, share, and create memories. Festivals are all about community, so bringing Generator to Wonderfruit and injecting our personality and DNA into the cultural event is something we’re really excited about. We’re delivering something fresh and different to this year’s site, creating an engaging destination for our guests to enjoy in between exploring the festival, and are looking forward to introducing our brand to a new audience of adventurous and creative travellers.”
Jon Lor, Managing Director of Wonderfruit, said: “We’re thrilled to bring Boutique Camping back with a fresh new experience in partnership with Generator. They bring with them their signature, global style presented with a local touch, offering Wonderers an elevated camping experience with a unique spin on dining and socially-driven activities all within the dedicated village. What’s really exciting is the introduction of our Shared Tents concept—uniting solo Wonderers for the first time ever. We’re proud to pioneer this new way of connecting our community and look forward to seeing it come to life at Wonderfruit.”
