Aleph Hospitality has commenced operations in Morocco and added two hotels to its portfolio. The Dubai-based independent hospitality management company has signed independent management agreements with the owners of two luxury resorts — Marchica Lagoon Resort in Nador and Michlifen Resort & Golf in Ifrane.
Located along the shores of the Mediterranean in northern Morocco, the luxury Marcicha Lagoon Resort is a 45-minute drive from the Nador International Airport. The resort features 93 rooms and suites and seven restaurants and bars with a Moroccan-inspired décor.
With the Marchica Lagoon close to the property, the resort’s leisure and recreational facilities include outdoor and indoor pools, a beach club, water sports offerings, a luxury spa with a hammam, fitness center, kids club and tennis courts. The resort also offers events spaces with views of the lagoon and gardens, along with meeting salons and lounges that open out onto a convertible terrace.
The luxury, all-suite Michlifen Resort & Golf is situated in Ifrane, with the mountains of the Middle Atlas forming a natural backdrop. Designed as a luxury alpine resort, the property is located at an altitude of 1,650 meters and enjoys snow in winter and cool mountain climate in summer.
About a one-drive away from Fes Sais International Airport, Michlifen Resort & Golf features 72 suites with four choices of luxury décor, seven dining options, a golf and country club with a signature mountain course by Jack Nicklaus, indoor and outdoor pools, a kids club and a spa with two hammams. For meetings and events, the resort offers a business center, an indoor sports hall and a royal theater.
“We are thrilled to have been trusted with the management of these two exceptional luxury resorts in Morocco. We have been waiting for the right partners and properties to enter Morocco with and we could not have asked for a better way for us to commence our operations in the Kingdom. This is an interesting time with the unprecedented surge in tourist arrivals and the government’s ambitious plans to boost the sector,” said Bani Haddid, founded and managing director of Aleph Hospitality.
Currently, Aleph Hopitality’s portfolio includes more than 30 hotels in the Middle East and Africa.
In 2023, Morocco welcomed a record-breaking 14.5 million tourists, surging by 34% from 2022, Aleph Hospitality said in a statement. The 2023 figures outperformed the previous record of 13 million arrivals in 2019. The increase in tourism aligns with the government’s $580 million plan to boost the tourism sector with the aim to attract 17.5 million tourists by 2026. Ahead of Morocco hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup (along with Spain and Portugal), the government is also planning to introduce new airline routes.
