Marriott International is expanding the presence of The Ritz-Carlton brand and adding a location in China. Marriott has signed an agreement with Xiamen Green Development Investment Group to bring The Ritz-Carlton brand to Xiamen Island in Fujian Province.
The Ritz-Carlton, Xiamen will feature 228 guest rooms, including 35 suites. The hotel will offer multiple dining options, including an all-day restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, lobby lounge and a signature bar with panoramic views of the Xiamen skyline.
For meetings and events, the hotel will have a 1,580-square-meter meeting space, including a grand ballroom and four meeting rooms.
Guests will have access to leisure facilities, such as a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, a fitness center and a spa.
The new hotel will be part of a mixed-use development in the Siming District, which includes retail spaces and a 340-meter office tower, set to become the tallest building in Xiamen and Fujian Province.
The mixed-use development will also include Marriott Executive Apartments Xiamen, which will offer 144 fully furnished apartments for long-term stays. Primarily catering to business travelers and families, the apartments will include amenities like a residents lounge, a swimming pool and a 100-square-meter fitness center.

Xiamen, a major port city known for its marine high-tech industry, is also a popular tourist destination. The Ritz-Carlton, Xiamen will be situated near key attractions, including Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, South Putuo Temple, and Xiamen University. The hotel is also within walking distance of Xiamen First Pier, offering ferry access to Gulangyu Island.
The new hotel will be Marriott’s sixth in Xiamen, expanding the company’s presence in the region.
