The luxury InterContinental Indianapolis has opened in downtown Indianapolis. Located at 17 West Market Street, the hotel is near Monument Circle and the Indiana State Capitol, it’s of the first luxury hotels to open in Indianapolis in years.
The hotel is housed in the historic Illinois Building after undergoing a $120-million renovation. The building, listed as one of Indiana’s most endangered landmarks, was preserved and transformed into a modern luxury hotel by Keystone Group. The renovation included the addition of a rooftop bar and the hotel now blends historic charm with contemporary features, offering a unique luxury experience in downtown Indianapolis.
The hotel offers 170 guest rooms and suites, each designed with modern comforts and luxury amenities. Rooms include soft furnishings, 300-thread count linens, Black Label BeautyRest mattresses, and walk-in showers. Some suites also feature soaking tubs and stunning views of the Indianapolis city skyline. Guests can enjoy a full wet bar, Nespresso machines, and curated mini-bars in their rooms. The hotel’s Penthouse Suite is the only one of its kind in Indianapolis, offering floor-to-ceiling views of Monument Circle.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of dining options led by award-winning Chef Craig Baker. The Astrea Rooftop Bar, located on the hotel’s rooftop, offers indoor and outdoor seating with a variety of cocktails and drinks. The menu features drinks like the Monument G&T and the Cardinal Crown, paying homage to Indiana’s state bird. Serliana, located on the second floor, offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with local favorites such as the Lobster Roll and the Indiana Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. For those seeking prime steaks, the Hyde Park Steakhouse on the ground floor remains a staple of the hotel, offering high-end dining in downtown Indianapolis.
