Tambia, the single origin, speciality coffee from Colombia is launching a new look and feel this month as it evolves its original craft paper bags to an elegant and fully recyclable pack.
A new recyclable & colourful packaging
Each coffee bag has a deep navy-blue background with the gold logo, a radiant sun encircling a coffee bean, paying homage to the parent company’s name, Oro Molido or “ground gold” in Spanish.
Inspired by the rich Colombian landscapes, each of the three single origin coffee from Finca La Sierra, Castillo washed, Geisha washed and Pink Bourbon washed, can be identified by a different colour in the front of the pack. Castillo displays a vibrant teal, whilst orange and pink are used for the limited-edition varietals Geisha and Pink Bourbon, making them easily recognisable and highlighting the vibrancy of the brand’s heritage.
The design also includes a hummingbird, a nod to Colombia’s nature and biodiversity as the country is home to 160 species of hummingbirds, more than any country in the world.
Natalia Garcia, Managing Director, Tambia says: “We’re evolving our branding to a new, colourful and recyclable pack that is easily identifiable and will bring more visibility for our range in store. Our aim is to create the highest quality, speciality coffee from seed to cup and we wanted our coffee bags to be reflective of our expertise whilst showcasing elements of Colombian culture. We’re very excited to be presenting this new look & feel and hope it will resonate with both our consumers and trade partners.”

The polypropylene pack is recyclable and durable and allows for the coffee to keep fresher longer thanks to an integrated one-way valve. It is also easier to store, reseal, and transport. Its new design also stands out in a kitchen, café, or on shelves in a retail space.
Quality & ethos: From Tambia’s farms to your cups
Tambia grows, harvests, and roasts its own coffee, ensuring full traceability and commitment to quality. Tambia’s farms are third generation, family-owned, displaying an unparalleled expertise in farming coffee. Tambia oversees each step of the production process guaranteeing a coffee experience that is deeply rooted in origin, sustainability, and community, delivering exceptional flavours straight from farms to cups.
Tambia has three types of coffees in its range, all grown in Finca La Sierra which is in a high-altitude land on the extinct volcano Cerro Bravo. The Arabica coffee beans are picked, processed and packed by hand before being sent to the UK for roasting to ensure maximum freshness.
The range includes:
● Finca La Sierra, Castillo washed is the signature coffee. Three level of roasting are available for the Castillo varietal: light, medium and dark.
o Light roast characterised by sweet notes of toffee balanced with delicate citrus notes.
o Medium roast brings out the rich flavours of dark chocolate highlighted with summer berries.
o Dark roast retains the integrity and quality of the beans with classic, dark roast flavours. It is smooth and shows notes of cocoa, cherry and smoky flavours.
● Limited edition: Geisha washed, light roast Geisha coffee is renowned for its intensely aromatic and floral flavours. It is one of the most difficult coffees to grow and one of most expensive on the market. Harvested in spring, Geisha shows delicate and aromatic flavours of tart strawberry, lemon and matcha.
● Limited edition: Pink Bourbon, washed, light roast displays a complex flavour profile with sparkling acidity and elegant, nuanced notes. It is a rare variety which requires experienced growers with a unique set of skills to harvest and process the beans which is why the production of this coffee is limited. The washed method allows for the nuance flavours of summer cherries and orange juice to shine through.
All coffees in their new packaging will be available from mid-April and can be purchased individually on Tambia’s website or via Amazon and selected retailers.
Finca La Sierra Castillo washed coffees are also available via a monthly or bi-monthly subscription service starting from £7.43 a month for a bag of 200g of beans.
