Aspire Group is expanding its portfolio in Germany with the conversion of a legacy city-centre property into a Spark by Hilton hotel, marking the brand’s second location in the country.

Aspire Group has confirmed it will take over the former Hotel Kaiserhof in Wuppertal, Germany, and rebrand it as Spark by Hilton Wuppertal City Centre. The transition will take effect on 2 June 2025, following the opening of Germany’s first Spark by Hilton in Stuttgart-Sindelfingen earlier this year.

Located adjacent to Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof and within walking distance of the city’s Suspension Railway, the property comprises 172 rooms and a bar. Düsseldorf Airport lies 35 kilometers away, supporting both business and leisure connectivity. The rebranded property is positioned to serve value-conscious travellers seeking central accommodation with access to digital amenities.

The 11,000-square-metre hotel will integrate features such as a 24/7 smart Grab & Go store and in-room steamers. These additions are designed to align with Spark by Hilton’s brand positioning in the premium economy segment, which emphasizes operational simplicity and standardised guest services.

“We are delighted to open Spark by Hilton Wuppertal City Centre. The combination of a prime location, innovative technology companies, and the atmosphere of Wuppertal makes this hotel a perfect place for business trips and cultural exploration.”

The Wuppertal opening reflects Aspire Group’s continued strategy of urban hotel repositioning through franchising with global brands. The move is also aligned with broader market trends where city-centre hotels are being revitalised under midscale international banners, offering potential returns through brand recognition and operational efficiencies.

The Spark by Hilton concept, introduced by Hilton as a premium economy offering, aims to provide a consistent, streamlined experience. The brand targets both business and leisure guests in urban and transit-oriented locations. Aspire Group’s adoption of this format indicates its focus on scalable, asset-light operations within Germany’s evolving hotel market.
