While the concept of food delivery took strong root in Asia-Pacific during COVID-19, the trend is here to stay, supported by the increasing penetration of technology and smartphones. The modern-day Asian consumer prefers personalization and services that are time- and cost-effective. Popular food delivery providers who have flourished in the region include Food Panda, Deliveroo, Pop Meals (previously Dahmakan), Swiggy, Uber Eats, and Zomato, among others. A higher percentage of frequent consumers have been choosing delivery than other avenues, as substantiated by aGlobalData survey*.
