A new “Hygge” themed hotel is set to open in Dubai within the next two years. A project by Dubai-based real estate and property developer Kleindienst Group, the new property is named after the Scandinavian philosophy of hygge – a concept that’s Danish in origin, with the word conveying a sense of contentment, simplicity, and the quiet joy of everyday life. The hotel will be located within The Heart of Europe on Dubai’s World Islands, and is scheduled to open in the first half of 2027.
The 96-key hotel, which will feature four restaurants, has been designed to offer a sense of calm and connection through spaces that encourage reflection and relaxation. According to the developer, the focus will be on delivering guest experiences that prioritise comfort and a sense of warmth, through intentional design, service, and atmosphere.
To accomplish this, the hotel will be utilising natural materials and “intuitive service”, aimed at making guests feel like they’re at home, even when they’re away from their actual home. The hotel will be filled with warm, understated interiors, plenty of cozy corners to relax in, communal spaces to connect in, and a sense of treasured quietude in everything from its wellness offering to its meals – which will be prepared with as many seasonal ingredients as possible, and served in a way that aims to feel familiar and welcoming.
Its architecture and interiors will be led by innovative design firm HWKN Architecture, with a focus on utilising modern technology to develop a culturally-resonant space. HWKN will be incorporating AI into the design process, using it to inform both function and aesthetics, in the hopes of creating experiences that push the boundaries of traditional hospitality environments.
Hygge Hotel will join a growing portfolio of themed hospitality offerings at The Heart of Europe, a six-island development inspired by European culture and architecture. The project emphasises sustainability and innovation, and the addition of Hygge Hotel introduces a more introspective, wellness-driven layer to the destination.
Sales for units at the new hotel will officially launch on 25 July 2025, with registration available via The Heart of Europe website.
