Hotel Equities (HE), a best-in-class hospitality operator, announces today the opening of the AC Hotel Wichita Downtown, part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of brands. The new property joins HE’s growing portfolio of lifestyle hotels. The highly anticipated property is located in Wichita’s historic Old Town district, bringing a modern sensory experience to one of the city’s most iconic buildings. The hotel is owned by Spartan Downtown, LLC and managed by Greenwood Hospitality, a strategic partner of Hotel Equities.

The hotel is housed in the historic Brown/Broadway Plaza Building, originally constructed in 1929, which quickly became a central hub for local businesses—even serving as home to the Russell Stover Candy Shop for over 50 years. Beautifully reimagined as a 118-key destination for today’s discerning travelers, the adaptive reuse project blends timeless architecture with clean, contemporary design—hallmarks of the AC Hotels by Marriott brand. Guests will enjoy sleek guest rooms, a 650 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center, and 2,000 square feet of flexible event space ideal for meetings, celebrations, and community gatherings.

Located steps from the city’s best dining, shopping, and entertainment, the property features the European-inspired AC Kitchen for breakfast and the AC Lounge, where guests can unwind with curated cocktails and tapas. With its central location near INTRUST Bank Arena, Century II Convention Center, and the city’s arts and innovation districts, the hotel is perfectly positioned to serve both leisure and business travelers.
