
Back in 2018, Rahul Musunuri and Mrudula Vadlamudi saw this challenge up close while running a technology consultancy that served multiple industries. Restaurant brands and vendors alike were sinking enormous effort into work that didn’t differentiate them. “We saw an opportunity to be the team that takes on that complexity, so others don’t have to,” said Musunuri.
In 2021, they spun out their restaurant integration business into a dedicated company: Khumbu. Bootstrapped from the start, Khumbu’s mission is simple—take on the “undifferentiated heavy lifting” of integrations so their clients can focus on growth and innovation. The name, inspired by the Khumbu region near Mount Everest, reflects their ambition to be a dependable partner helping customers reach new heights. At MURTEC 2025 Experience Matters, Khumbu made its In Restaurant Technology Network’s Start-Up Alley debut.
