Mews Systems Ltd

[Göttingen, 16 September 2025] – FREIgeist Hotels, the German hotel group renowned for its bold design and regional character, is celebrating one year since completing the rollout of Mews across all five of its properties. Since going live in August 2024, FREIgeist has seen a 30% reduction in average guest check-in time, significantly enhancing the guest arrival experience.

With two Design Hotels™ and a Relais & Châteaux property in its portfolio, FREIgeist Hotels shows how a unified tech platform can still champion individuality. While each hotel has its own character – from industrial-inspired interiors to inventive culinary concepts – they are all powered by the same seamless, centralized Mews technology.

“Our main goal was to reduce manual and time-consuming tasks and improve the check-in and check-out experience for our guests,” said Annerose Kühn, Revenue Manager at FREIgeist Hotels. “With Mews, we’ve not only reduced check-in times by 30%, but we’ve also halved the time needed for nightly audits. It’s made a measurable impact on guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.”

The group uses Mews’ cloud-based property management system and Mews Payments across all of its hotels, enabling smooth online check-ins, automated invoicing and quicker payment processing. This has made teams more mobile, guest-focused and quicker to onboard new staff.

“We chose Mews in part because of its strong reputation – the HTR HotelTechAwards win helped validate our decision,” continued Kühn. “What really stood out, though, was how easy the transition was. Usually changing tech systems is difficult, but with Mews it was so smooth.”

“Our goal with Mews has always been to simplify hotel operations so staff can focus on what really matters: the guest experience,” said Matt Welle, CEO of Mews. “It’s inspiring to see forward-thinking groups embracing that vision and transforming the way they work.”
