APIs are central to today’s travel industry, connecting fragmented sectors and enabling companies to scale without the hassle of building multiple integrations. By plugging into established APIs, travel businesses gain instant access to flights, hotels, car rentals, and experiences, broadening their offerings and often securing better prices for customers, all with minimal upfront investment.

Who can use travel APIs?

  • Startups can launch faster by offering flights, hotels, and extras without huge upfront costs
  • Online travel agencies (OTAs) can expand their services and become a one-stop shop for travellers
  • Corporate travel companies can build smarter tools for business travel, pulling in the right options for their clients
  • Niche travel sites (like adventure holidays or wellness retreats) can easily add different types of accommodation or extras
  • And even non-travel businesses, like banks and mobile operators, can boost additional sales, enhancing their traditional products with travel offerings

API-driven approach helps teams respond quickly to market changes, test new ideas, and keep operations efficient. With customer expectations rising, outdated systems make it hard to stay competitive. The focus now should be on reliable, flexible API solutions that can adapt as business needs evolve.

RateHawk’s API provides access to a vast and carefully curated hotel inventory from 330 suppliers and 220,000 direct contracts, including over 100 DMCs worldwide.

Christopher Jallah, head of API distribution at RateHawk, shares: “Over the past year, RateHawk has doubled its API network, today partnering with more than 1,200 companies worldwide. This includes global travel tech platforms, OTAs, mid-offices, tour operators, TMCs, all drawn by the need for scale, flexibility, and easy integration backed by dedicated support.”

Power of API partnerships

Integration with RateHawk’s API is designed to be as easy as possible, with a choice between a direct connection or linking through more than 130 certified global tech platforms. Clear documentation simplifies the process. Therefore, technical teams can move efficiently from setup to operation.

“Our focus has always been to make global accommodation supply truly accessible,” adds Christopher Jallah. “We believe that success comes with collaboration, so we’re always actively listening to our partners’ feedback and continuously developing our product together with them. For instance, in our latest API Version 3, we’ve enhanced our “Pre-book rate from search” feature, providing fast pricing updates. We’ve also optimised our hotel content, which helps our partners manage hotel data across systems. Companies can also choose a tailored mix of accommodation content that fits their customers’ specific needs. In this way, we help partners expand quickly and develop the industry together, without heavy lifting on their side.”

One of RateHawk’s long-term partners, a travel technology platform Vibe, with 18 years in the industry, shared its experience with Travolution. They have been working with RateHawk for almost 3 years, and, in 2025, they chose RateHawk as one of their preferred suppliers.

“Thanks to this partnership, we can quickly and efficiently help our clients get access to Ratehawk’s vast inventory. This gives them worldwide competitive pricing and richer commercial agreements. The vast amount of available accommodation options negates the need to build multiple different APIs, which is both time-consuming and dilutes the commercial return”, says Danny Girling, business development and head of partnerships EMEA at Vibe.

Throughout every stage, RateHawk’s clients benefit from tailored support: a local Account Manager and API Optimisation Manager guide onboarding and growth, while 24/7 multilingual customer assistance ensures help is always available. Recognising that every business is unique, RateHawk also offers flexible pricing and commercial terms to fit a variety of needs.

Another RateHawk’s partner, Paximum, a global travel B2B marketplace, integrated the company’s supply content in 2022. They shared with Travolution their experience with the integration process.

“We’re sourcing our supply from 60+ leading bed banks, local DMCs and travel product suppliers. With RateHawk, we are highly delighted with the high-quality technical support they provide. Their technical team is equipped with experienced professionals from various markets, which makes the interaction with them easy and effective. We’re also happy with the variety of unique inventory we get via RateHawk’s API for our target markets in the Middle East and North America”, says Behiye Çeribaşı, Head of Revenue and Optimistion, at Paximum.

With these strengths combined, RateHawk’s API offering enables travel businesses to adapt, expand, and operate efficiently in a competitive landscape without unnecessary complexity or compromise.
