
The Fifth Avenue Hotel, a member of Leading Hotels of the World, has appointed Karla Aabo as managing director for the Fifth Avenue Hotel and chief operating officer of Flâneur Hospitality. Aabo brings over 25 years of experience leading luxury hotels, private clubs, and lifestyle brands to her new role.

In her new position, Aabo will oversee the entire operations of the hotel. She began her career at Mandarin Oriental in Asia, where she handled corporate sales. Over the course of her career, Aabo served as hotel manager of Crosby Street Hotel during its opening, leading the launch of Firmdale Hotels’ first U.S. property and positioning the hotel at the forefront of the New York market. Other previous roles include director of operations at Gramercy Park Hotel and managing director at Austin Proper Hotel & Residences. Most recently, she served as the managing director of Montauk Yacht Club and vice president of operations, East Coast for Proper Hospitality.
