eSIM provider hails ‘massive demand’ for service

Global eSIM pioneer Holafly has announced that it has surpassed US$500 million (£372m) in cumulative revenues since the pandemic.

The company, founded in 2017, pointed to the rebound of global tourism, the mainstream adoption of remote work and the transition to eSIM-only devices as reasons for its sustained growth.

It received $200m in revenue in 2024 alone and has sold more than 15 million eSIMs across 200 destinations. eSIMs are available in 18 languages, with 24/7 support.

Holafly says its ‘mission’ is to ‘give travellers peace of mind’ through unlimited data and removing the hidden costs of roaming, putting ‘simplicity’ and ‘trust’ at the centre of its offering.

Since 2020, the company has surpassed the half-billion-dollar revenue threshold. And industry analysts project the global eSIM market to grow at a compound annual rate of 31.8% through to 2030.

“Reaching this threshold validates the massive demand for what we’ve built,” said Pablo Gomez, chief executive of Holafly.

“It’s remarkable to see how we’ve grown from a simple inspiration into a scale-up actively redefining traveller convenience.

“While we celebrate this significant marker, we understand it’s the foundation for our next phase of expansion. We are focused on becoming the unquestioned global leader and the first choice for every traveller.”

The company plans to ‘reinforce’ its presence in English-speaking markets while expanding its senior leadership team.

Last year, Holafly appointed former Eir Ireland executive Allan Kenedy as chief financial officer and Melanie O’Bernie, previously with Three Ireland, as head of legal.

The firm said “additional senior hires are expected in the coming months as the company continues to strengthen its foundations for global growth”.
