June 28 is no ordinary date.

That’s when the European Accessibility Act (EAA) officially kicks in. And if your hotel website serves guests in the EU, you’ll want to pay attention—because this isn’t a suggestion. It’s the law.

The EAA mandates that all digital products and services—including travel and e-commerce websites—must be accessible to people with disabilities, particularly those with visual impairments.

This isn’t about “nice to have” anymore.
It’s a legal requirement, and the consequences are real:

  • Fines up to €60,000
  • Imprisonment up to 18 months

Why now? Because nearly 100 million people in the EU live with some form of disability. That’s a massive audience your website may be excluding—unintentionally, but critically.
