With more than 70 hotels already renovated and 60 more in progress, Accor continues its regional modernization strategy to align design, brand identity, and sustainability across Europe.

Accor is actively reshaping its hotel network in Europe through a wide-reaching renovation programme that targets properties across its premium, midscale, and economy segments. According to the group, more than 70 hotels have already undergone upgrades, while an additional 60 projects are either planned or underway. This initiative reflects Accor’s ongoing focus on brand consistency, updated guest experiences, and long-term operational performance.

“It is extremely important to keep our brands relevant and true to their brand promise to meet the demands of today’s guests . Our modernization strategy in Europe—as Accor’s historic home—underscores our commitment to innovation, ensuring we continue to delight our guests while strengthening brand loyalty and long-term profitability.” – Julie White , Chief Commercial Officer Europe & North Africa, Accor

Several renovated properties stand out as part of this transformation:

– Mercure Wien City (Austria): Located in Vienna’s second district, the hotel’s guest rooms and public areas were redesigned, incorporating elements of the Wiener Werkstätte and Art Nouveau aesthetics.
– Novotel Warsaw Centrum (Poland): Celebrating its 50th anniversary, this central Warsaw hotel completed an 18-month refurbishment across its 364 rooms, restaurant, and event spaces, led by Sundukovy Sisters Studio, with a focus on energy efficiency and modern materials.
– Mercure Bologna Centro (Italy): Featuring 244 renovated rooms and three meeting spaces, the hotel also includes a garden and restaurant with park views.
– Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino (Italy): Positioned near the Naples harbour, the property underwent updates to its lobby, 99 guest rooms, fitness centre, and cocktail bar.
– Ibis Styles Barcelona Sant Joan Despí (Spain): Following rebranding, the hotel was redesigned around Catalan modernism, offering 161 rooms, co-working areas, a fitness centre, and an outdoor pool.
– Ibis London Blackfriars (UK): This property completed a full renovation of its 297 rooms, integrating energy-efficient features while meeting Green Key environmental certification.
– Ibis Bayeux Port-en-Bessin (France): Inspired by its location near Normandy’s historic beaches, the redesign includes a breakfast area, bar, and cyclist-friendly amenities.
– Mercure Angoulême – Hôtel de France (France): Located in a historic building, the renovation added modern interiors while retaining local character. The property also features Bistro Bardy.
– Pullman Riga Old Town (Latvia): Scheduled for completion in summer 2025, the redesign will affect all rooms, the lobby, restaurant, wellness area, and meeting facilities. Tremend Design Studio is overseeing the project.
