A strategic collaboration brings eco-conscious innovation to top Portuguese resorts

L’Occitane en Provence and Highgate Portugal have joined forces to elevate the standard of sustainable luxury in hospitality, answering the rising demand from discerning travellers for environmentally responsible experiences.

Rooted in a shared vision of authentic, forward-thinking hospitality, this partnership launches with the implementation of L’Occitane en Provence’s signature refill systems across nine premier Highgate Portugal properties, which include: Kimpton Atlântico Algarve, Algarve Marriott Salgados Golf Resort & Conference Center, Cascade Wellness Resort, Sesimbra Oceanfront Hotel, NAU São Rafael Suites, NAU Morgado Golf & Country Club, NAU Salema Beach Village and Monte Santo Resort.

This initiative is a key step in both companies’ broader sustainability agendas – aimed at reducing plastic waste, encouraging mindful consumption, and embracing a circular economy.

Francisco Santos, Head of Sustainability at Highgate Portugal, said: ‘This partnership with L’Occitane en Provence represents more than a product choice – it is a reflection of our commitment to increasingly conscious luxury hospitality in line with Highgate’s ESG values. The adoption of refill systems is a natural step in our journey to reduce environmental impact and promote truly sustainable practices.’

Fabienne Bourbonnaux, Senior Sales Manager Hospitality Europe at L’Occitane en Provence, added:

‘We are thrilled to align with Highgate Portugal, a brand that shares our values of authenticity, quality, and environmental respect. Our new Citrus Verbena refill packaging represents years of innovation – designed to deliver a luxurious sensory experience without compromising the planet.’

Set against the golden sands and vineyard-draped hills of the Algarve, these resorts redefine what it means to escape responsibly. Whether teeing off on a cliffside golf course or unwinding in a coastal spa, guests can now indulge in luxury that aligns with their values.

This partnership marks the beginning of a new era in sustainable hospitality – where every choice, from the amenities in your room to the ethos of your host, is made with care for the planet and passion for unforgettable experiences.

A Legacy of Sustainable Excellence

For more than four decades, L’Occitane en Provence has led the way in natural beauty and eco-conscious design. With over 25 years dedicated to the hospitality sector, the brand is a trusted name among luxury hotels, premium airlines, and exclusive cruise lines worldwide. Its thoughtfully crafted, eco-designed amenities reflect a deep commitment to enhancing guest wellbeing while protecting the environment.
