UK: The Independent Hotel Show London has opened entries for its 2025 awards, in partnership with Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Taking place on the first day of the Independent Hotel Show (IHS), 6 October at Olympia London, the awards feature three categories: Hotel Rising Star, Hotel Design of the Year, and Independent Hotel of the Year.

Hotel Rising Star – open to employees at any level and working in any role within a hotel, the award recognises individuals who show early leadership qualities, a passion for the industry, and a drive to learn.

Hotel Design of the Year – open to design projects from the past two years, the award recognises hotels which demonstrate and blend functionality, guest experience and visual impact.

Independent Hotel of the Year – open to any independent hotel, entries must demonstrate excellence, innovation, and community engagement while delivering quality guest experiences.

Karen de Koning, general manager of Grove of Narberth, the recipient of the 2024 Independent Hotel of the Year award, said: “It was a great honour for the whole team and we couldn’t be prouder to have been named Independent Hotel of Year, especially when you consider the incredible selection of other hotels also shortlisted for this award.
