Hilton has opened its first Curio Collection by Hilton property in Vienna. The 125-room Hotel Astoria Vienna is located in the city’s 1st district on Kärntner Straße, near St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the State Opera.
The hotel originally opened in 1912 and has hosted international guests for more than a century. After a refurbishment by VERKEHRSBUERO, the hotel includes a new restaurant and bar, four meeting rooms, one Beletage Suite and seven Junior Suites.
In the Grand Salon, guests can have a traditional breakfast buffet with local dishes such as Kaiserschmarrn and Fiaker goulash. The new Astoria Bar, located in the lobby, serves local beers and wines along with cocktails made from historical recipes, including Garter of the Gracious Lady and Kiss With Love.
“This year marks 50 years since Hilton opened its first hotel in Austria, and the opening of Hotel Astoria Vienna, Curio Collection by Hilton is a great new addition to our ever-growing portfolio of hotels and brands in the country. We continue to see significant demand for our lifestyle hotels across Continental Europe, and I’m excited that Hotel Astoria Vienna will join our growing range of Curio properties across the region, alongside other upcoming openings in Sicily, Athens and Istanbul,” said David Kelly, senior vice president, Continental Europe, Hilton.
“Curio Collection is known for its immersive and one-of-a-kind offerings, and those experiences are only growing with first-in-country debuts like Hotel Astoria Vienna,” said Brooke Thomas, brand leader, Curio Collection by Hilton. “Just steps away from some of the City of Music’s famed attractions, the property’s remarkable design and elevated dining make this hotel a destination truly unto itself.”
“With the rebranding of Hotel Astoria Vienna, Curio Collection by Hilton, we as operator are setting new ascents in the Viennese hotel market. Our collaboration with Hilton strengthens the hotel’s visibility among international guests while preserving the unique Viennese charm and long-standing appeal of this historic property,” said Martin Winkler, CEO, VERKEHRSBUERO.
Hotel Astoria Vienna is part of Hilton Honors, which allows members to book stays using a mix of points and money and access other benefits including exclusive discounts and free standard Wi-Fi.
