Reserved matters approval for construction

The Reserved Matters approval has been granted for the construction of a 142-bedroom Fairfield by Marriott hotel near the British Motor Museum in Gaydon.

The site, just off junction 12 of the M40 motorway, will be an essential addition to the area. Construction is expected to begin this autumn, and the hotel is scheduled to open in early 2027.

This marks the first entry of the Fairfield by Marriott brand into the UK market. The hotel is set to bring modern accommodation to the region, which is currently lacking internationally branded hotel options.

A strong partnership for operations

The hotel will be managed by Cycas Hospitality, ensuring efficient operations and management. As an independent property, the Fairfield by Marriott hotel will enhance the local visitor economy by attracting a wider audience to the area, including visitors to JLR’s Global Headquarters and the British Motor Museum.

The museum, home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, will benefit from the increased foot traffic generated by the new hotel.

“A new hotel in such close proximity to the Museum presents exciting opportunities for growth. As an independent museum run by a charitable trust, we depend on income from visitors, donations, and commercial ventures such as conferences and events. An increase in footfall driven by this development will directly support our mission to Collect, Conserve, Share and Inspire.” – Adrian Managhan, Acting Managing Director at the British Motor Museum

Luxury hotels are more expensive than ever to build. It doesn’t mean they aren’t getting done.

This new hotel is an important development for the region, addressing the current shortage of good-quality branded accommodations. It is expected to meet the needs of both business travelers visiting JLR and leisure tourists exploring the local cultural and heritage destinations.
