Ant International has unveiled an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered travel companion called Alipay+ Voyager, which is integrated with digital wallets.

Agoda, Fliggy and Trip.com are launch partners for the initiative, which combines Ant International’s agentic AI capabilities with travel content from the online travel agencies (OTAs).

“Through its one single AI interface embedded in e-wallets and super apps, Alipay+ Voyager assists travelers, via text or voice in their local language, to complete itinerary planning, booking and purchasing in-destination merchant offerings with a seamless flow,” the company said.

Alipay+ Voyager has initially launched on Alipay (Chinese mainland), AlipayHK (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China) and GCash (the Philippines), with plans to extend it to further Alipay+ payment partners in the coming months.

In addition to offering the travel planning and booking service, Alipay+ Voyager also enables consumers to access local ride-hailing, public transport, shopping, dining and sightseeing options.

The company also said it can curate trips by understanding user preferences and help consumers with issues such as flight delays.

Additionally, the initiative provides merchants and OTAs with access to multiple core markets and e-wallets from a single point.

“By integrating a proactive, always-on AI travel companion within digital wallets that consumers already use frequently, we’re empowering travel and wallet partners with new opportunities to engage travellers in a more relevant, personalised way, through every step of their journey,” said Douglas Feagin, president of Ant International.
