A major project for Dorint’s expansion in Austria
After an absence of almost 20 years, Dorint Hotelgroup is returning to the Austrian capital with an ambitious project. The Dorint Hotel Weitblick, located in the “Viertel Zwei” district of Vienna’s 2nd district, will be a 35-storey hotel complex.
The group is planning a total of 298 rooms, including 28 long-stay rooms with kitchenettes, a restaurant, cafeteria and shop, as well as eight meeting and event spaces.
The site of the future hotel is particularly strategic, between the Messe Wien and the Ernst-Happel-Stadion. This project is part of the Group’s expansion, with two existing hotels in Austria, the Dorint City-Hotel Salzburg and the Grand Tirolia Kitzbühel.
A hotel with ecological and modern features
The 55,000 m² building is characterised by its sustainable design and modern architecture. It will be equipped with an ecological energy system using renewable resources, thanks to geothermal probes and water wells. Heating and cooling will be provided entirely by a zero-CO2 energy plant.
‘Dorint Hotel Weitblick Wien will be an asset to the city and the district, while offering a modern and sustainable guest experience.’ – Stefanie Brandes, Managing Director of Dorint Hotelgroup
This ambitious project aims to strengthen the group’s position in the Viennese market and attract an international clientele.
A strategic investment for the Viennese hotel industry
Vienna, as a world-renowned city and one of the most economically successful in Europe, is a key location for Dorint. The project should not only boost the hotel sector, but also generate economic spin-offs for the city.
According to Dirk Iserlohe, Chairman of Dorint Hotelgroup, ‘The Dorint Hotel Weitblick Wien represents an important milestone in our expansion strategy and strengthens our presence in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland)’.
Scheduled to open in 2028, this will be the chain’s third hotel in Austria and represents a significant step forward in the expansion of its network in Europe.
