Sona, workforce management software firm, has unveiled its first agentic AI workforce management platform for hospitality operators, making it easier than ever before to support employees, manage service and delight customers efficiently and effectively.

The new software enables operators to take advantage of thousands of autonomous, goal-seeking ‘agents’ that work collaboratively with people to deliver business objectives.

The agents – or digital employees – proactively find and interpret patterns in data and provide real-time insights and recommendations, to supercharge decision-making across teams and functions.

Sona’s technology has the capability to deploy an agent for any task or decision within the Sona product suite, such as deciding whether to approve annual leave, or how best to update a rota for tomorrow given weather alterations.

It can also autonomously manage long-running processes, such as onboarding employees, as well as deploy agents to monitor data and actions in any integrated third-party system to drive efficiency across the entire tech stack.

Ben Dixon, chief technology officer and co-founder of Sona, said: “We are incredibly proud to be the first provider of genuine agentic AI software in the hospitality industry.

“Our AI agents act like business analysts, strategists, and mentors all-in-one, sitting beside a manager, understanding what they’re looking at on their screen and providing relevant insights based on real-time data.

“As managers move through different areas of their operations, from scheduling to wage cost analysis, the software automatically adjusts its focus and provides recommendations – or a decision – to help the manager optimise performance.

“Agentic AI is a significant opportunity for the hospitality industry. As the tech becomes part of the workforce solution, it works with people to solve business challenges, based on data.

“It learns from those decisions and from the next round of data, adapting to new situations to continually improve its decision-making – effectively supercharging teams to operate at maximum efficiency.”
